Dragon Loyalty Award

Dragon Loyalty Award

I would just like to say here, that even though there seems to be more ‘no award’ blogs (I totally respect the fact people wish to devote their time elsewhere).  However…hah there are two sides always and that is I will still nominate some ‘no award’ blogs, because though I know it will go no further it is still ‘my way’ of saying ‘hey your great’ and leaving it at that 🙂

“No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith.” ― R.A. Salvatore, Streams of Silver

“No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith.” ― R.A. Salvatore, Streams of Silver

This lovely award was appointed to me by Charlie Castor on 5th March 2014, whom I met after I got drawn in by a post about a slug, or slugs should I say, urgh, seriously please go visit, a wonderful blog called Fun with Depression.

PS Here is the post that drew me on slugs, click here.

I have no clear indication what the Dragon Loyalty Award stands for but by looking back at other nominations and my own interpretations, I can imagine it is for traits where people try to share/help/support others through their blog, I might be wrong but that is what I possibly could go with for now unless told otherwise…..or let’s throw another idea in to the bucket, magic & mystery, for dragons are surely this? But woo hoo I so do not feel like a magical or mysterious person, but hey it all helps with me nominating on, hehe!

Or I could go with Charlies interpretation which is pretty darn good, here it is:

It was very kind of you. I can only imagine that this is an expression of exotic, fiery and mystical admiration and/or a project to raise awareness about blogging dragons.

The Award Process:

  • Copy and paste this post into your new post
  • Acknowledge the Blogger who nominated you and link back to their nomination post
  • Insert the “Loyalty Award” image into the post and on your blog
  • Change the “Five Facts” section to your answers
  • Change the “Five Nominees” section to your choices
  • Inform the Nominees they have been nominated by leaving a comment on their page linking back to your nomination post

Five Facts about Me

1. I got so freaked out as a child after watching ‘Salems Lot’ that I made a cardboard cross, painted it silver, put sellotape all around it and would sleep on my back like I was in a coffin or something with my hands tightly gripped around the makeshift cross on my chest, this went on for months and I always woke up in exactly the same position.

2. I had an obsession with horror stories and books, relates to No 1, yes I am a glutton for punishment.

3. I love fish fingers, mash and baked beans, oh yahhhhh any day that will keep me happy!

4. I would love to live by the sea, but where I live now is pretty darn cool.

5. For some odd reason as a child I convinced myself I was adopted, this went on for quite some years, yes I am totally nuts, if you saw a picture of my mother I look exactly like her, maybe I am just paranoid?

My nominees.

  1. Farmerfarthing ~ cos she is just fandabbydosie, I love her stories and the way she can make me smile
  2. Anewperspectiveperhaps ~ I have lovely chats here and we seem to share the same busy mind, she often writes exactly what I might be thinking or writes something that I just sit and ponder about, great stuff!
  3. Holdingtogetherthejello (Mark) ~ Mark is just great, he writes about his loss but also his life now with his boys and injects such a dry sense of humour that can just make me hoot loudly so everyone in my family looks around at me quite annoyed, which for me is a great thumbs up.
  4. Tracesofthesoul ~ I know this blog is a no nomination blog, but I was always an anarchist.  No seriously I understand there will be no further nomination but it still allows me to say hey “I think you are great” which is my pleasure to be able to do that and recognize that you write amazingly, I always look forward to see what part of your soul in prose or otherwise you might share with us.
  5. 5kidswdisabilities ~ Another mother who has a hectic but beautiful life, always manages to write posts that hold me for that moment still (which is a feat) and sometimes not only make me smile but a big ole giggle too ~ are you getting the idea I like a good old yarn?

Thank you again Charlie for bringing a smile to my face!

I shall enjoy seeing whoever continue this nomination from here, no time pressure either as I know some have a complete panic, hey I am really late on this myself!  (no surprise there)

Big huggles and don’t forget to chat if you are around xx

Whew, you’re earning some cool awards!! On an unrelated note, I just saw that you joined Instagram — feel free to ignore my friend/follow request over there if you prefer to protect the privacy of your family (which I approve of) 🙂

Oh I think I followed you already? LOL
OH BTW is it correct that people cannot just copy your photos from Instagram? If that is right I don’t worry about having to put my name on them x

      • March 20, 2014 at 6:57 PM

Ha! Instagram confuses me even more than Facebook and I only started with Instagram this Monday…

So, yes, you did follow me (that’s how I found you there), but I cannot see your pictures because your profile is private (so the app says). I sent you something like a friend request and now it says that my request is pending… Whatever, don’t worry about that, we’ll figure it all out on the go.

Apparently, you can’t share other people’s pictures from Instagram like you can do on WordPress, for example, but if you right-click on the photo, you can still download it in your computer. That is, if someone wanted to do that.

Happy instagraming! (Is that even a word?) 😀

Hah well I think it doesn’t work either because if you check it just downloads a small version of the profile pic and nothing else. That’s what happened to me anyway. Hehe. I prefer it that people can’t copy but of they can just means I will put my name on but much more work which I don’t want to do unless I need to. If you try to download could you let me know whether it really did work? Pretty pmease

          • March 20, 2014 at 8:31 PM

Oops, you’re right! Stealing pictures from Instagram doesn’t work as I thought! I mean, the option to save the image on my hard drive did show, but it didn’t download the image after all. I think you’re safe then 🙂

            • March 20, 2014 at 9:45 PM

Hah at least I am right woth one thing 🙂 I tried to steal your cat just as an experiment.

Re the badge I will look tomorrow it does sound complicated hehe

Your right I noticed more functions on the phone ap

You have looooads of pics hehe and all organized

Let me check the invote again I only have three pics up

              • March 20, 2014 at 10:06 PM

YOU TRIED TO STEAL MY CAT?!?! Now I can’t decide whether to laugh hysterically or to be scared by the very idea 😉

The About.me badges are not so hard as it looks, if there’s a problem you think I could help with, just ask.

Do I have loads of pics on Insta? Haha, that’s funny, I just upload some old pics in batches to see how it works 🙂 Yep, organised, I am terribly organised. I’m so organised that I have almost no time to do anything else but to organise. (I just spent an evening re-organising the tags on my blog. Heh.)

                • March 20, 2014 at 11:22 PM

Oh wow you must be cross eyes doing that. Yes I tried to steal your cat because she is really pretty bit I know bit dangerous. I just worked on my Pinterest a bit was lookong somewhat empty heje

                  • March 21, 2014 at 5:34 AM

Don’t worry, I’m not cross-eyed (yet), I’m pretty much used to it. I applaud to your taste in trying to steal my cat 🙂 I was trying to send you the very cat via Pininterest, but it’s ridiculous, I found I didn’t have your email address to do that. (I gave a try to eclecticoddsnsods at gmail, but I doubt that I guessed it…) I saw your pins — and fell in love with pugs! You also almost made me drink tea. (Which I don’t.) I love to see you around on the internet! Oh, and thank you so much for the pin you sent me (I re-pinned it), it’s frighteningly fitting!! ❤

                    • March 21, 2014 at 6:53 AM

Lol re the pin I sent I’m glad it worked I wasn’t sure but nice to give you a present this way 🙂 my gmail is eclecticoddsnsods@gmail.com

Let me go and see if you worked it out (goes to check) x

    • March 20, 2014 at 8:18 PM

Oh I’d love you to follow me but it doesn’t show it? Ps I like your badge it’s much nicer than mine lol how did you get those small neat badges is it specific to your theme? X

      • March 20, 2014 at 8:27 PM

Don’t fret about that, we’ll find out — I’ll too just need some more time to get used to using Instagram. What I have found out about it so far is that its functionality is severely limited when you use it on your computer. Apparently, the full functions are only accessible via a smartphone (I understand it’s because smartphones have different operation systems than computers). Whew, I’m pretending to be smart, right? 🙂

I love the social badges of mine too! I got them in by a trick: I can see you are using your About.me widget too. Now, see the little WordPress icon at the very end of your About.me profile as it is shown on your blog? You’ll need to go to About.me and connect all your apps in the same way as you connected your WordPress blog. The badges will then show — just like mine. What’s too bad is that it only works with some apps — for instance it doesn’t work with Pininterest 😦

Hope I didn’t manage to confuse you with my well-meant advice too much!

Congratulations on your award! Not much for scary movies, but I do enjoy fish sticks and mashed potatoes 🙂 I also think it’s cool you’re sharing this award with great blogs, and not just people who will pass it on.

Thank you and nice to meet you 🙂

It’s trying to match people and blogs to awards some seem to match others better.

I love the blogs and bloggers I follow of course and having three blogs I cross reference sometimes they are all different and yes I make life hard for myself hah!

Grand theme reveal tomorrow I’m nervous I think many might not find mine exciting it might be a total bleh.

Will you swing by tomorrow possibly? Lol

Seriously though, you are pretty damn awesome so you deserve the award. I think you were nominated cos Dragons are awesome and you are awesome, therefore you were nominated. Or, this may just be the sugar talking. 😉
