A selection of lovely moments!
Recently I got a Fitbit, if you don’t know what it is, mine in particular is a wristband which has some gadget in it which bluetooths to ones phone and computer on a personal account to log various things, such a distance walked each day, energetic activity met, sleeping patterns, both good and restless, you can log food etc, the possibilities are endless. I have been finding it very useful, just from the basic fact it keeps me aware of what I am doing, it is in the back there somewhere in my mind, but one thing that has cropped up is how much sleep I need in order to feel semi sane, a whopping 8 1/2 hrs, I had two instances this week on 6 and wow by the 3rd day I was a gonner. I have got one for my eldest son too and he is ecstatic about it, he likes gadgets and keeping records, so this way he has fun and is going to attempt to get a little fitter and I also get to spy on his sleeping habits. Bad mother I am! However, I woke up this morning feeling rather refreshed and was looking through some posts, I am sooo way behind so I apologize if I usually comment away but have been lacking recently trying to keep up with every day activities and blogging sometimes is a challenge. I came across two posts, one that really warmed my heart, is a must for cat lovers and animal lovers in general or if you are a sop like me, here is the post: (honestly you will love it & I am not giving any of it away by talking about it!) Black and White and Loved All Over The next post I read was by Karuna, she is the mother of Sreejit Poole who writes the most amazing poetry and has fantastic soul searching challenges on Thursdays, however I digress, his mother, Karuna started blogging more recently and she has wowed me startlingly so with some of her posts. The most recent one was today, here is the link: A Hippie and Proud of it Karuna is as I put in one of my comments to her “classic inspiration to anyone of any generation.” She is dynamic, adventurous, knows what she wants to do and goes for it and it’s always with a good heart at the base of it. She has had sooo many adventures, her post is long but riveting. Her personality is such that for me I could transfer all her stories in to a Grandmother’s tales, sitting on the sofa keeping children engrossed in all her stories and being an inspiration to them for when they grow up. Next ‘Random Moment’ was my son rushing in to my bedroom and saying “mummy who is Firebonnet?” I was rather surprised wondering where he could have heard of that name from. I said “she’s a blogging friend”. He smiled and said “she’s got a really cool dog, I really like him, I am now following her on Instagram”, which made me laugh. It is funny how our lives intermingle. He was nosying around from his instagram on to mine and hey presto next thing I know he has found the lovely Meghan who actually hosts the Random Moments of Delight that I am doing right now 🙂 Next but hopefully last for the day was that I have been badgering ‘shrek’ for weeks now to please put a large pot in the front garden, maybe I am getting competitive walking past other people’s front garden and seeing all the glorious flowers. Finally he relents after much muttering and hey presto, I have a pot!
I managed to get down to the garden centre and buy some flowers, poppys, gypsophila and some lovely lilac flower I can’t remember the name of but apprently won lots of awards this year. I am attempting the wild meadow, wild flower look. As just planted they are looking a little wilted but hopefully after a burst of sunshine they will perk up, but still definitely a moment of delight.
Now for mara or any cat lovers. My girlie cat, Purdey that is, not mara, but that’s another story, is 17 years old. She has thyroid issues for which she is medicated but it has made her half the size she used to be, but I think we got the dose right and she is looking rather chipper! Finally for a cat that never poses I caught her wandering amongst the basil, she even came up and gave the camera a kiss! I had to of course slip in a photo of my ginger boy so he didn’t feel left out.
