Fiesta Friday #23 – review, review and erm eat?

Fiesta Friday #23

I have been experimenting with diets, cutting down sugar, a bit of gluten free, bah, some of it was realllllly good and some OMG was just yuk!

I did however find a lovely website, called The Healthy Happy Wife, so I would like to share some of the recipes I did with her.

The Green Spinach Smoothie (Dairy, Gluten and Sugar Free)

I am giving the links to these recipes, not because I am darn lazy and don’t want to write it all out again but i have a point there, but because I think the creator of said recipe deserves the visit and time on their blog.

This was easy peasy to make. Word of warning however, make sure you really to de stone the cherries or you will end up like me ending up seiving them with your teeth whilst trying to drink it.  My kids are a bit weird about smoothies, ie super fussy and I ended up making the remainder in to an ice lolly which wow they loved!  I loved this ice lolly or not and really healthy!

Here is mine…

Coconut, Shrimp and Okra Soup (Dairy, Gluten and MSG Free)

Now this took a little more time to cook but not a fiddle, if I can do it anyone can.  I simply loved this soup, however as ‘shrek’ said it is more of a grown up meal, the kids picked the shrimp out and weren’t really going to the okra, but as adults we loved it!

Pics for proof!

Kedgeree; Curried Fish, Rice and Egg (Dairy and Gluten Free)

Wow this was a huuuge hit, oh my the meal hardly touched the plates, everyone wolfed it down.  Kedgeree apparently originates in India, curried fish!  Really this is easy to make, healthy and tastes oh my soooo good!

So that is it from me folks, which dish do you think you would like?

I am hankering after all right now and dribbling over the keyboard, better go before I electrocute myself!  Justine xx

It’s a struggle in this weather – we could do with a good storm to break it up a bit.

Thanks for my little pressie! You made my week xx

That is the one drawback with cherries, but they are worth the trouble. 🙂
