Weekly photo challenge: Summer lovin’ – Petersham to Richmond

Weekly photo challenge: Summer lovin’

Show us something you love. It could be your favorite novel, the light of the moon on your deck at night, the beach on a hot day, or that special you-know-who. Get creative!

Summer Love

I took a more literal take on Summer love in one of these photos and the others combine one of my favorite loves and that is walking by the river, the River Thames in this instance.

Yesterday I went from Petersham to Richmond down by the side of the River Thames.  It was a spontaneous decision, the summer was wow hot but many shady patches were to be found & opportunities to take a break, lie down and watch the clouds float by.

On the way we found children paddling, an eclectic mix of boats from rustic to vavooom boats.  But my favorites were the traditional rowing boats, they to an admitted romantic tweeked a smile out of me.

There were riverside eateries from relaxed open canopied tables to high walled exclusive clubs.  There were artists with easels and waxy paints drying in the sun, a Puppet Boat Museum which we were tempted to visit and rare breed cows who took a great interest in my frenchie, Teddy.  I love the photo of father and son fishing, they were totally engrossed in the catch, or possible catch!

There were different terrains to walk over, from small loose pebbled paths to concreted trails weaving between manicured lawns.  Swans sometimes sat at the side waiting for a child to throw a morel of bread and the waves from speeding boats waited for excited toes to dip in.

I did get a surprise on our return journey.  I had happened to pass just one tressle table which had every inch covered in plates of what seemed the most gorgeous smelling foods, there were champagne flutes propped up on the grass and a trio of eccentric looking musicians plucking at stringed instruments.

It was only then I spotted a huge lens, my eyes moving towards its target, a just wedded couple.  I could not help but snap up a shot and share with you a most definite depiction of Summer Love, is there a more better way?

Summer Love

I leave you with a bit of fun, dogs frolicking in the not so choppy waters!

I hope you are having some Summer Lovin’

I am also including this as my Random Moment of Delight #30 which it certainly was this weekend.

Happy Weekending, Justine xx

Wonderful summery pic.s, Justine – and it’s my guess that your shots of the wedding couple would win you the prize (if there were one). 🙂
