Macro Monday – Another handsome fella came to visit me!

Wow I am so lucky, look at this handsome fella that came to visit.

Actually he could be a she I am not sure, but either way I think he/she has taken residence in our garden somewhere, what a treat!

We call people who live in East Sheen, which is where I live, Sheenites, amongst other names, so I introduce my ‘Sheenite Toad’.

Just curious but how can you tell the difference between a toad and a frog??

He is actually pretty nice looking! In our old house our garden was covered in frogs-the cats had a ball. I wouldn’t try kissing him though Justine, from the looks on my cats faces when they caught one, they don’t taste particularly nice by all accounts lol πŸ˜› xx

Very nice little fellow, and I like that he was looking at you πŸ™‚ My father-in-law recently added a toad house to his garden. Not sure if they work, but it’s a cool idea.

The way he is smiling at you, I believe he was waiting for a kiss to turn him into a prince. Or perhaps he was just enjoying the photographer.

What a beauty. I have a thing for frogs. I collect jewel boxes that are in the shape of frogs. I have all kinds if frog stuff all over our house. My friends think I am weird but still they feed my collection and buy me unusual frog things in their travels. So who is the weird one really?

I am always a tad confused between toads and frogs. I know I’ve got a few down by the creek. Not counting all the stuffed and other assorted ones that I’ve been collecting for over thirty years.

Frogs are supposed to be good luck I wrote a whole series with kaeru (frog) in haiku format for a journey on Carpe Diem the first one is here: http://julesgemsandstuff.blogspot.com/2014/02/ryozenji-haiku.html
Starts with CD 389 and goes to CD 434 there are a few other pieces in between.

Basically; kaeru = frog, and return in Japanese
Also is a lucky symbol and related to travelers

    Continued good luck to you!
