Photography 101: Home

They say home is where the heart is.

For me being slightly more pragmatic and perhaps some of you might think less romantic or whimsical I like to think of home as the following:

Somewhere my feet cause a sigh of relief as they cross over the threshold,

Somewhere my heels might relax under a chair to eat with family & friends,

Somewhere my soles might find comfort under soft blankets upon a sofa to watch TV,

Somewhere my toes might find another to brush up against soft skin & bring on a nights peaceful slumber.

What do you think?

As quoted by the Daily Post:ย Home is elusive. When we think about this word, we might picture different physical locations. And while home is often found on a map, it can also be less tangible: a loved one, a state of mind.

I like this post! I agree with all of them. And the photo is awesome too!

If I’d add one item to your list, though, it would be:

Somewhere my toenails can be clipped without me worrying if anyone’s watching.

I like the tonality and the selective focus. I somehow wish that the leaf was separated from your foot a bit. I also wish I could see more of that beautifully weathered step. For some reason, steps like that say “home” to me.

Love the sentiment. Inspiring me to think more out of the box for this photo challenge.

hehe, out of the box is necessary sometimes when you can’t think of something traditional to put in x
