Winter Pimm’s Punch

Winter Pimm’s Punch

As taken from here

I decided to host a Christmas Drinks Party for a volunteering group that I am a part of that act as ‘Guardians’ for one of our beautiful local green spaces.

They usually don’t have a Christmas do as such and me being a new committee member felt they could do with a bit of fun.

So I made two punch’s, the other I will save for another day, but the one below I ‘thought’ was a hot punch.  I had gone searching everywhere locally for a punch bowl, trawled through every charity shop and regular shop and no luck.  It was on my journey back I thought I would have one last look in my favourite charity shop and hey presto look what I found.   They had one gloriously ornate china punch bowl for £7 and 10 glasses had been dropped off for hot punch at £7 for the ten, so £14 in total which in reality is a real snip.

I then got home and re-read the recipe, the punch was cold not hot!!! haha

Actually I think it would be quite nice warmed up, if you see the ingredients, cinnamon, apple etc, all ones that warm up well.  Now this punch is strong, it is not for the faint hearted and gets even better with time.  We had a little left over which I have bottled up and put in the fridge.

So if you are having a party or fancy something other than the usual mulled wine, look no further than the recipe below 🙂  I am spicing up Fiesta Friday with my spicy and yummy concoction, who is first?

Winter Pimm’s Punch

Prep – 10 mins, Easy, Serves 10

Ingredients

  • 500ml Pimm’s
  • 500ml brandy
  • 1½ l apple juice
  • ice
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • apple, sliced
  • orange, sliced

Method

Combine the Pimm’s and brandy with the apple juice in a jug filled with ice, cinnamon sticks and a sliced apple and orange.

I hope you are having a lovely time partying and have fabulous Christmas events lined up for all over the weekend.
Thank you as always for reading, your time and comments are super appreciated, Justine xxx

I’m not going to cook this because I never cook, but I will hand the recipe over to my food provider 😉

I love how you thought the punch was hot instead of cold at first. That’s a quick mistake that I would have made too!! The punch looks so tasty, thanks for sharing! 🙂

Bang, bang, bang – lots of cocktails for Angie’s party! I use to make this when some English friends lived here. Most definitely it would be good “warmed”! I do love your punch bowl – very colorful. Thanks for sharing at FF #46 🙂

With all the alcohol being served at this week’s FF, I think our typing might become a little unreadable towards the end haha! But if you can’t indulge at Christmas, when can you?!
This looks really yummy, and definitely sounds like it has a good kick to it. You don’t see much Pimms over here in the US though, they’re definitely missing out!

My (normally non-drinking) hubby loves a good Pimm’s cocktail… I bet he would love this, too. I must pull out the punch bowl and test my theory. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your recipe, Justine!

I’ve never had Pimms before, but am seeing more and more beverages that include it. I’ll have to add it to my alcohol stash! 🙂
