Black & White Photography Challenge #5
I used to ride heaps, hours and hours each week. To me there is nothing quite like the relationship one has with a horse, one that you ride regularly and develop a bond with.
I had a horse, he was called Rocky and lived well in to his late 30’s. I lost him a year ago but had had many years of joy with him, he was a total character, still with an eye for the ladies a this grand old age.
There is always a close bond with any pet, but with a horse it goes that level deeper, the trust that is built up between the two and working in unison, having a feel for each other. I had never jumped on another horse and don’t think I ever would on another, I am what they say a one horse woman LOL.
I had to stop because of my back issues, but the other day I got to go and visit the stables where I spent so much of my life. We all have our favourite smells, a few of mine are grass cuttings, horses and horse manure, yup you read right!
I wonder how many horsey people would admit to that.
It took me back being there in an instant as if I had never left, my thighs twitching itching to just get back on and go for a wild canter in Great Windsor Park but alas it is not to be. I did have fun though and now my 12yr old son has taken up the reigns and loves it.
Here is one cheeky fellow, I couldn’t help resist but share him here with you today. I love the way they tilt their head as if to say “yes I am here, is there a treat in your pocket, I do look that cute enough to have one right?”
This was taken with my bridge camera and edited in Light Room & is my final entry, being #5 for the Black & White Photography challenge.
What is the Black and White challenge?
In order to fulfil this challenge one must post a B&W photograph for the next 5 days. On each of these days to also nominate another photographer to enter.
It’s a crazy hectic festive time, so anyone I might nominate, it is cool if you can’t do it, or with to defer until the New Year, I totally understand. Or indeed you might have been nominated before, these things are hard to keep up with especially in a tight knit band of photographic buddies. If you do however take the plunge, I shall be watching the Black & White space with anticipation and enthusiasm, thank you, have fun!!!
I would like to nominate the wonderful Mary from Tales from the Backyard for the B&W Challenge, pop by her blog to spoil yourself in all the amazing things she finds and reviews for her wonderful animals, see the scenery of all the places she visits and have a friendly chat!
Thank you for taking time to look at my black and white challenges, is there any particular one from 1 – 5 of the days that sticks in your mind and why?
