Writing 201: Drawer, My Weakness

Writing 201: Drawer

Writing 201: Drawer

My Weakness

My green eyes glance towards the drawer

a place often looked at yet with much restraint

Taste buds water, tongue swivels like a snake

“Mmmm” I must not linger in thought

lest my resistance becomes at stake

and a mistake I might make

~.~

Fingertips wrap around the handle

A gentle tug most limp lying, feigning weakness

“Phew it did not open, a sign, be stronger”

Another tug, more harsh this time as buds swell, nostrils flaring

“MMmmm” coco aromas hit senses as eyes begin to roll

~.~

Pleasure senses awaken there is nowhere else to go

“No, do not tempt me, you wicked delicious chocolate”

Staying quietly still I just watch as heart beats a stampede

I will it to answer, to teach me resistance technique

“Yes I must have you, I am weak but oh I am weak”

~.~

Digits skim the truffles, brown elixir coats my tips

“Mmm just so delicous, my heavenly morsel”

“The temptress becomes just one less tonight”

“Or might it be two or three?”

“Let us just wait and see!”

Now I have written this after about half a bottle of prosecco quaffed during a girlie lunch, what a ‘real’ treat, well as real a treat as quaffing chocolates would be.  But of course I might wake up tomorrow and think “what the heck did I write”.

PS, I do in fact have chocolates hidden away in my drawers, wooden drawers thats, not the bloomer type you naughty thing!

Your prompt: drawer

Today’s form: ode

Today’s device: apostrophe

Huzzah! I’m not the only one to utilize a double meaning of “drawer.” Nice work.

I’m doing well. I’m at my desk cutting up newspapers for today’s assignment. I’m not making much progress with my poem, but I could write one heck of a ransom note… Are you getting anywhere with today’s assignment? I haven’t done the “reader rounds” yet.

haha at the ransom note lol. Your’e doing better than me, I had no interest in cutting up pieces of paper, i would prefer to write, so I rebelled and didnt do taht part of it, so I shall look foward to yours. My attempt today was fairly pathetic x

My attempt was pathetic too. I gave up on the cutting. I’m faking it now. You’ll soon see what I mean.

The pleasure in this poem is being able to use my senses while reading it – I can taste and smell the chocolate, and I can see the enjoyment on your face.

You caught me! When I read you had chocolate hidden away in your drawers I instantly thought, “now there’s an interesting mental picture for you.” Of course as soon as I read your next I literally LOL – I write that often but rarely truly do it, but this, well, you caught me!

Doing okay — much better — still missing Farfel terribly.

I hope the visit to the Pain Clinic goes well. That would be such a blessing — fingers and toes crossed! [hug!]

Thank you and yes I can imagine you are, it just dulls week by week a little bit. A friend of mine just lost her King Charles that was 15, she is utterly devastated. Pets bring us such joy but such sorrow when they go xx

Oh, that is so sad — tell her a woman in the US sends healing thoughts her way.

And a King Charles is a beautiful creature too —
