A habit or obsession

Habit

Habit

Habit

The questioned posed is, is this a habit?

or merely chance exposed, and time to grab it?

Is this a habit, or is this an obsession?

Who knows the equation to answer such a question

What is a habit?  Is it controlled repetition?

A guilty act waiting confession?

An act of conscious salacious desire

To never want the moment to expire

This habit is coated with obsessional delight

using smell, taste and obligatory sight

I try to resist with all my fragile might

But it is a completely futile untenible plight

I am a self confessed and unashamed chocoholic hehe, hence the prompt word of habit naturally inspired my thoughts to head this way.  The photo is my secret (not so secret now!) stash of chocolates in a cupboard beside my bed ❤

Awe, what a sweet poem! Literally… I like it that it started as a serious meditation on the nature of a habit and then it turned into an ode on chocolate! I wish I had some to satisfy my own choco addiction but I’m afraid I’ve consumed all the chocolate in the house yesterday… Horror!

Me – but he drinks all the wine 😉 The girls have masses of chocolate but then forget about it. I wonder that as we gave them fairly free rein on chocolate when they were younger they’re not too fussed about it? They both declared yesterday they would prefer lemon drizzle cake to chocolate cake…

I’m a chocoholic but with very specific tastes. I won’t eat anything with less than 65% cocoa, 75% being about perfect. My wife isn’t as into super dark chocolate so my stash is left in plain site.

oh wow you are lucky no thieves about hehe. My taste buds have become quite fussy now, I can taste an inadequate chocolate within nanoseconds and quite happy to spit out! lol x

I understand 100% So what you’re saying is that if you were visiting I’d have to hide my chocolate.

Being a gracious host I would, of course, offer you some, and then hide the rest ; )

If you ever got that look in your eyes, you know the one, the look that says, “I need chocolate. NOW!” I’ll make sure I give you tidbit just to keep the stash safe ; ) But for right now, with an ocean protecting my prized chocolate, it’s just sitting on top of my dresser. It’s not in a drawer, so no, I don’t keep chocolate hidden in my drawers. It’s still sitting in plain sight but out of puppies’ reach.

haha….well you know what they say about poker face? Maybe i might try that to lul you in to a false sense of security as I think just a tidbit might make me want more lol

OK, OK, you’re always a step ahead of me. I’ll just have to leave it where it is, making sure thestock is always replenished and never even make the snide comment, ‘Oh, I must be eating more chocolate than usual.’ ; ) I’m begining to think having the ocean between us may not be enough protection ror my poor chocolate.
