Food Fair Heaven & A Rustic Lunch

Food Fair Heaven & A Rustic Lunch

As some of you know I have been in Devon on holiday.  As few will know who read my chocolate review here:-  Chocolate Review, gluten free, nut free & cow milk free, that I also went to an amazing Food Fair whilst here.

This really was a little slice of Heaven.  It was held in South Molton which is very much farmland area so we were all in for a surprise.

I think I restrained myself as only bought, cheese, pickles, breads, chocolate, vinegars ermmmmm….. (Guilty look)

I thought I would provide some visual delights for those of you partying at the Fiesta Friday blog hop and anyone wanting a small feast.

These were the most delicious German chocolates with flavoured egg whites inside.  I thought they would be quite sickly and overwhelming but they were light and fluffy and easy to finish.

When we got home we had a little rustic lunch put together from some of the things I bought.

All were fantastic and I now have an urge to find out how to make runner bean chutney as it was absolutely delicious.  Anyone got any good recipes?

Rustic Lunch

  • The Fine Cheese Co’s Toast For Cheese made with dates, hazelnuts & pumpkin seeds
  • Fig & Date Balsam Cream Vinegar
  • South Molton Runner Bean Chutney with mustard and turmeric
  • Devonshire Vintage Cheese

The bread was very crunchy like a crostini but thinner with a lovely sweet aromatic taste.

The Pickle is sweet with a gently spicy undercurrent, divine.

The Balsamic is very sweet with quite a kick to it, the figs very evident which I love.

The Cheese is very creamy with just enough taste to curl your taste buds a little.

All go extremely well together.

I shall miss this lunch until next year.  It’s the first time they have had this Food Fair but if your near South Molton next Easter make sure to keep your eye out for it!  Or you can just visit to have some great farm shop shopping.

What’s your favourite food fair?

Justine xx

I would spend so much money in that place. Just SO MUCH MONEY. Which is why I can’t go to Farmer’s Markets and Food Fairs. I’d go broke. lol

But thank YOU for sharing all of these lovely pictures of your holiday with us Justine- I really enjoyed it 🙂
