Teriyaki Pork Steaks – Low FODMAP

Teriyaki Pork Steaks – Low FODMAP

Yet another treat found to be possible within my Low FODMAP diet and yup another slab of meat, actually a slab is a bit over the top don’t you think?  So easy to make and you know if I am saying that, then it is REALLY easy to make!

Visual Evidence

Teriyaki Pork Steaks – Low FODMAP

For the pork

  • Lean loin or leg pork steaks
  • Garlic infused Oil 1 tbp
  • Fresh root ginger 1 thumb sliced thinly
  • Gluten free Soy sauce 1 tspns
  • Golden Syrup 1 tspn
  • Zest of grated orange

I griddle the steak with the garlic infused oil and ginger, putting on a dash of the soy sauce and golden syrup, sprinkling right at the end the zest of the grated orange.  I havn’t put timings etc, because I figure most people know how they like their steak.

To Serve:

I served with mashed potatoes, using butter, rice milk, sea salt and pepper to season, topped with green leaves of a large spring onion  (scallions) as this is low FODMAP.  Do not use the actual onion part.  This gives it a nice taste, I popped it on to the griddle once the pork was cooked to sizzle for a few mins before topping the mash with it.

I also made thin slithers of carrots, lightly boiled with a touch of sugar as my mama used to do. Perfect!

Stupid question, but what is FODMAP? Whatever it is low in, that plateful of food looks delicious.

It’s a diet that is a wide spread exclusion of foods that supposedly cause IBS symptoms erc so if your an allergy sufferer but
Not sure what’s causing it its a good way to find out x

I googled it afterwards. My stomach must be lead-lined – I can chuck anything in there. It’s a real concrete mixer. Guess I must have been a chicken in a previous life. πŸ˜€
