Eclectic Corner #12, Perspective – Photography

Eclectic Corner #11,  Momentarily –  Photography

Come & join in the new streamlined Eclectic Corner, one ‘theme/word’ per month, 3 challenges!

The ‘theme’ or word this month is ‘Perspective’

The 3 parts to each ‘theme/word’  each week over the month will be scheduled as follows:

  • 1st Tuesday of each month, Week 1 = Photography
  • 2nd Tuesday of each month, Week 2 = Poetry or written piece (specifics announced at time)
  • 3rd Tuesday of each month, Week 3 = Favourite related quote

All the above should be related somehow even be it loosely to the Theme of the Month.

Week 4  we will celebrate with my Tea Party blog hop, which will not be in theme to Eclectic Corner, just a Tea Party as usual but we will celebrate also some entries for the Eclectic Corner.

You can still read up on Eclectic Corner #11 Momentarily if you missed it here:  Eclectic Corner #11 Momentarily – Photography

You can also still view the Inlinkz page that relates to this theme/word, here:  InLinkz Momentarily

You get 3 votes to use during the month to pick your favourite posts.  Voting is enabled from the 18th June.

At the Tea Party on week 4  I will feature the top 3 with the highest scores irrelevant of which week it relates to.  If you enter the challenge there is an agreement that you will allow me to use the photo and or written work to be featured, of course you retain your copyright.

There will be as usual the InLinkz, please make sure to blog hop and vote for your favourite entries.  So you might need to pop back each week to see who has entered what.

The InLinkz will close on Friday 19th June, to give me time to write up the Tea Party and celebrate, so with the quotes on week 3, this is a shorter week.

You can find out more about Eclectic Corner on my page which gives a guide on how to enter:  Eclectic Corner

  1. the art of representing three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth, and position in relation to each other.
“the theory and practice of perspective”
  2. 2.
a particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view.
“most guidebook history is written from the editor’s perspective”
synonyms: outlook, view, viewpoint, point of view, standpoint, position, stand, stance, angle, slant, attitude, frame of mind, frame of reference, approach, way of looking/thinking, vantage point, interpretation

“her perspective on everything had been changing”

Please take time to look at the first picture for a while before moving on to the second.  What do you see?  What is your interpretation of the scale of this object?

Eclectic Corner #12 Perspective

Eclectic Corner #12 Perspective

Now technically there is a small clue in this photograph, giving some perspective on the matter, see it?

Eclectic Corner #12 Perspective

Eclectic Corner #12 Perspective

The perspective of this photograph is fully revealed now.  You could have thought in the first photograph that this object, ie red clad skeleton was not that big, merely because I zoomed in and there was nothing else really around it to give it some perspective.  I don’t think even the aeroplane that looks like it’s about to dive in to it’s eye reveals this.

It isn’t until you look at the second photo you see a bit of a building which gives some sense of scale, the 3rd photo revealing the huge size of this statue completely.

Eclectic Corner #12 Perspective

As you see there lots of options this month with perspective, from a technical point of view with photography or one’s perspective, a personal view.  I hope you enjoy!

Remember you can enter each category of each week as many times as you wish and photography can be entered in the 3rd week, the only limits are you imagination and the final close date which is on Friday 19th June.

If you wish to enter, please press the button below and enter your URL.  Make sure to vote, or pop back when more entries are put in and say ‘hi’ to the others.  You might want to tag your post Eclectic Corner #12 Perspective.

PS Don’t forget to enter your posts in to the InLinkz please 😀

Thank you for your time, Justine xx

Hey there, still waking up but will take a look on a bit. I fear that the voting ability disabled entries it’s an odd system. If so I will allow voting much later. I will let you know and sort either way x

After doing my post for this challenge I wondered if your skeleton statue was really almost as big as the house. When I took my picture from low down, the plant looked like it was bigger than the house. That was total illusion. How big was the skeleton?

You say in your post that it was huge, but I’m wondering how huge! 🙂

            • June 12, 2015 at 8:44 AM

It was seriously huge, it formed part of the theme park, it was building size lol.

          • June 12, 2015 at 8:45 AM

oh i am not that clever with photography to make something look that big when it isn’t, it was part of the theme part set up for winter and was building size, honestly guv! grinz
