We Are All Going Enamel!

We Are All Going Enamel!

It’s here, it’s in, it’s so now and totally Summer Fresh!

What is it?

  • It’s enamel
  • It’s handmade
  • Handpainted…wow!
  • Great prices too!

Enamelware has been around for ages.  Why?  It’s easy, lightweight, you can chuck it around and it won’t break.  Use it as a frisbee or better still use it to eat off, or display things or to carry things, the list is endless.

What do we have here?  I am starting off with some beautiful vintage trays….

Vintage Enamel Hand Painted Trays 1950’s

Beautiful enamel, from the 1950’s. Asian hand stencilled trays.  These ones are a great size too.  I kept one, yup I did, and I wanted to keep all of them.  You know when you have loads of little dishes to take to the table and get fed up with that back and forth, back and forth, the normal size trays just don’t seem to cut it, well this one does and it looks good too!  Bonus!

They are vintage, they show their unique signs of their age, their travels and adventures.

The designs and colours are still FRESH however, they look gorgeous anywhere but especially on the garden table, pop a few candles on, or a salad, with canapes and your favourite cocktail and hey presto you have it all sorted.

These trays are limited, one of each except for the red/orange and there are only two of those, hey they are vintage how many did you expect to be around? Remember no one else will have one but they will certainly want one once they have seen yours!

Product stats/prices/where to find etc are below the picture gallery….

I am such a fan of enamelware, but almost exclusively for cooking. I have a few small bowls from the 60’s and they are handy for outdoor use.

The new ones are delightful. I have some vintage ones from grandparents. Very careful to hand wash and not use metal utensils to avoid chipping the old glazes and possibly letting lead/cadmium from older paints get into food. Cheery trays and dishes brighten up life year round al around the house. So worth the effort to find and keep them

Very true and long may these last. Today is a very sunny day and my eldest comes back from his trip so I think dinner on a sunny tray is the order for the day 😀
