Star Anise Tea

Star Anise Tea

If you are a tea lover and adore that aniseed taste then you will love this tea.

In this fabulous tea, I have combined ordinary black tea with star anise.  Star anise has some surprising benfits, apart from being a great breath freshener, it also stimulates the appetite and calms the growling tiger in the tummy, so both a stimulant and sedative at the same time.

How to make this tea

  • 1 tea bag or your favourite tea leaves
  • 1 whole star anise
  • sweetener if you fancy
  • milk (optional)

Put the tea & star anise in to a cup, pour in freshly boiled water.  Make sure that the water has not been a re-boil, it always tastes better this way.  Leave the tea in to taste, I literally dunk it.  Add sweetener if you wish, I didn’t with this tea.  I let the star anise stay in the tea whilst I drink it.  I found I could re-use the star anise again.

Please let me know how you found this tea if you decide to try it 🙂

Archie my little black pug puppy has been promoted to official taster tester, however, this time he decided to opt out, but woofed that it smelt absolutely fabulous!

Love your new taste tester, Justine! He is just too adorable! 😛
Actually, I often make tea with different spices – cinnamon bark, whole cloves, and even anise. No milk or sugar added.
