Delicious Coconut Persimmon Smoothie

I’ve made some smoothies in my time and this one came about from a huge quantity of persimmons or otherwise known as kaki that I got from the Fulham Road Market.

However, this marketing shopping ensured that I have now discovered my favourite smoothie of all time.  The taste is simply delicious, to my taste buds anyway, like a lovely hug, I know that sounds odd, but that is how it was to me.  Delicious!

I’ve teamed it up with a superfood powder, one made from green plant/food juices, sea vegetables, enzymes and bacterial cultures,  Watch out I will be a superwoman yet. 😀

Delicious Coconut Persimmon Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe persimmons or kaki
  • 1 cup of cashew milk (or your favourite)
  • 1 chopped up banana
  • 1/2 cup of ice
  • 1/3 cup shredded coconut
  • a large squidge of your favourite sweetener, I use coconut syrup
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmet
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger, pref fresh
  • 1 tsp of Supperfood powder
  • 2 ripe Hachiya persimmons, chopped
  • I was tempted to add chia seeds, but restrained in this instance to see what the texture would be like without.

How to make

Blend, blend and blend until smooth.  Best drunk when cold.

Archie’s little nostrils were flaring whilst this was being made and he gave it an official woof woof of a pukka smoothie!

    Persimmons taste fabulous – even the little wild ones we pull off trees each fall (like tiny pumpkins then)
    Great idea for a smoothy

    A lovely hug is the absolute loveliest description I’ve ever read for a smoothie! I think I can imagine it from the combination of warm spices and thickness from the banana and coconut. Ah, a good simile is sometimes so much more exciting and conjures up more imagery than a list of accurate adjectives could 😀 I’ve never thought to use persimmons in a smoothie, but it sounds just fabulous with the banana and coconut and spices!
