Chocolate Coconut Mango Superfood Smoothie

This is lovely, light & refreshing yet has a hint of something indulgent.  Also reminds me of Summer!

Chocolate Coconut Mango Superfood Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe, organic bananas
  • 1 cup fresh, organic mango, sliced
  • 4 organic, soft dates
  • 1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1-2 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 cup organic kale or spinach if you want your green input
  • fill up to blender level with cashew milk

How To Make:

Blend, blend and blend until smooth.

I love cashew milk, it is a new discovery, it gives sweetness and a creamy texture.  Just add more until you find your desired consistency.

I use a nutribullet which does the job nicely.

  • Dates: good source of various vitamins and minerals. Its a good source of energy, sugar and fiber. Essential minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, magnesium and zinc are found in dates. It also contains vitamins such as thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate, vitamin A and vitamin K.
  • Coconut: highly nutritious and rich in fibre, vitamins C, E, B1, B3, B5 and B6 and minerals including iron, selenium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorous.
  • Cacao:
    • Magnesium, and other essential minerals including calcium, sulfur, zinc, iron, copper, potassium, and manganese.
    • Polyphenols called flavonoids, with antioxidant properties.
    • Vitamins: B1, B2, B3, B5, B9, E.
    • Essential heart-healthy fat: oleic acid a monounsaturated fat.
    • Protein.
    • Fiber.
  • Chia: Despite their tiny size, chia seeds are among the most nutritious foods on the planet. They are loaded with fiber, protein, Omega-3 fatty acids and various micronutrients.
  • Kale: low in calorie, high in fiber and has zero fat. One cup of kale has only 36 calories, 5 grams of fiber and 0 grams of fat. It is great for aiding in digestion and elimination with its great fiber content.
  • Cashew: they are packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. These include vitamins E, K, and B6, along with minerals like copper, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium, iron, and selenium, all of which are important for maintaining good bodily function.

    I’ve never had cashew milk, must try this smoothie sounds delicious.

      Thanks and please let me know if you do. Cashew is my favourite but really hard to get hold of here in all stores it’s out of stock so it might be one i have to try and make myself again 😀

    This definitely is a super food that also sounds like a super delicious drink. I love a smoothie after I work out to recharge my muscles. I love that you include the health benefits of your ingredients!
