Weekly Photo Challenge: The Road Taken

Weekly Photo Challenge:  The Road Taken

On our last trip to Devon both my boys took up surfing lessons, which I might add they absolutely loved.  Each day I would traipse in to get my coffee and biscuit whilst they went off to the windy frothy waves to see how long they could stay upright.  Each day I would walk past a very boring uneventful looking garage before going up the stairs to my warm haven.

However one day the garage was open and what had been once very uninteresting became very interesting as inside suddenly became like an art gallery.  It turns out that a devout Christian surfer had spent some time painting people who loved his second passion, surfing, equally as much as himself.  I have not edited anything and kept things like the light switch in to give some perspective as to the size of these paintings.

I especially love the last two.  What a lovely surprise.  Which is your favourite?  Justine xx

This is a contribution towards the weekly photo challenge, focusing on the words The Road Taken

What a find! I am particularly drawn to the final picture of the pregnant woman with the skin peeled showing muscle fibres and ligaments.

That’s a statue by Damien Hirst not too far away from where we were. It sits in Ilfracombe overlooking the bay. It was quite something when we went to see it 😀

I’ve never seen anything like it.
